London has a lot to offer to tourists. From exploring the museums to checking out the trendy markets and trying diverse cuisines to pub-hopping, there is a lot to do in London. It is indeed very difficult to squeeze so much that you can do in a short span of 48 hours. Follow this guide that tells you what to do and where to go to make the most of your stay.
Day 1
After a tempting and delicious breakfast, head to the Trafalgar Square, the hub of London. After this, go to the north side of Trafalgar Square to go to the National Gallery. Have an enlightening look at the gallery and go to the Whitehall where you will come across Downing Street.
At the end of Whitehall, come face to face with Big Ben and the houses of Parliament. With all this, you’ve seen some of the major attractions and sights of London.
Enjoy a nice meal for lunch at the place of your interest and then walk across the square to one of the most prestigious buildings in London, Westminster Abbey.
Head towards St. James Park northeast and then go around the lake to reach to the middle of the bridge and you will see a beautiful view of Buckingham Palace. You can go eastwards to see Knightsbridge and the well known store Harrods.
In the evening, go to the Brompton Road and check out the three museums the V&A, Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. The entry cost for all these museums is free.
After visiting the museums, you can head to the Kensington Gardens and enjoy a stroll here. You will also see the Kensington Palace here.
If you have some time left and you feel energetic to explore more, sign off your day by heading to see a nice show. Go to London’s West End and explore further.
Day 2
Get up and take a tour towards the east from the centre of the city. Somerset House and St. Clement Danes are places you should see and then head towards Temple Church. Walk towards Ludgate Hill and then St. Paul’s Cathedral, a beautiful tourist site.
In the afternoon, walk towards the east from the monument to reach to the Tower of London. You can then cross the river and reach the other bank. You will see the City Hall and Southwark Cathedral on your way. After this, go to the (Shakespeare’s) Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern.
After spending some time at the Tate Modern, go to the famous sight London Eye. This is an iconic sight that you should see during your trip to London. Check out the beautiful views from here.
