We’re living in a new technological age, and our home life has been made simpler and more luxurious thanks to a host of new tech equipment. Today we’re taking a look at some of the latest and greatest innovations in home technology, from TV beds to connected coffee machines.
Smarter’s Wi-Fi Coffee Machine
Smarter offers a line of home technology that includes a connected smart kettle, and their popular Wi-Fi connected Smarter Coffee Machine. Built by London-based tech enthusiasts, the coffee maker is available globally via Amazon and allows you to control exactly how your coffee is made using an app on your iPhone or Android device.
The coffee machine can even be set to wake a person up in the morning with coffee, making this an amazing, modern version of the Teasmade.
BedStar’s TV Beds
This is a pretty exciting innovation. Developed by BedStar, the TVBed has a universal bracket and frame that allows people to install any flat screen television up to 42” in size. The popular Kaydiuan Sommer model even has a three-directional sound bar, a hub adapter with USB and auxiliary ports as standard.
You don’t lose the remote control, either, thanks to the pockets and compartments within the TV Bed that allows you to hide the TV, sound bar and remote away when you’re not watching.
Amazon Echo
Amazon has taken the digital personal assistant one step further, taking the voice from your phone and bringing it to your kitchen, living room or bedroom. The Amazon Echo is a smart speaker – essentially, a $180 Bluetooth speaker that also has a digital assistant called Alexa.
The digital assistant helps you manage your day-to-day life, from reminding you about appointments and telling you about the day you have ahead, to reading audiobooks and letting you purchase things with your voice.
Stack Alba
The Stack Alba gives your light bulbs a brain. This is a smart LED light bulb that knows where you are in your house thanks to its built-in motion sensors. When a person leaves the room, the lights turn off. The ambient light sensor also means that the light will shift from hard to soft white depending on the amount of light in the rest of the room.
You can even hook up the light bulb with your Nest, keeping the heating turned on when the bulb detects that you’re in the house.
