How Harmful Are Antibiotics for UTI Treatment?

in Health and Beauty on 17/04/19

When you go to the doctor to seek treatment for a urinary tract infection, you will likely be prescribed an antibiotic to kill the causal bacteria. Some of the most commonly prescribed antibiotics for UTIs include Trimethoprim, Fosfomycin, Nitrofurantoin, and Cephalexin. If you look at the side effects of these and other antibiotics, though, you’ll see afflictions such as nausea, diarrhea, general pain, and vomiting. What’s worse, though, is the fact that antibiotics may not cure UTIs—they can, in fact, exacerbate the problem!

Good Bacteria vs. Bad Bacteria

How can an antibiotic make your UTI worse? If it’s given to you by a health care professional, it can’t be harmful, right? Unfortunately, these assumptions are incorrect, and the reason is simple: there’s a difference between good bacteria and bad bacteria. The bacteria that most commonly causes UTIs, E. coli, occurs naturally throughout your digestive tract. It isn’t necessarily a bad bacteria, but when it is transferred to your urinary tract, it causes infections. There are ways to prevent UTIs naturally that don’t kill both the good and bad bacteria in your body the way that an antibiotic does.

Avoid the Plague of Antibiotics

Antibiotics purport to treat UTIs by eliminating the causal bacteria, but in the process, they can eliminate the bacteria in your body that’s necessary to your health. Quite ironically, this can lead to the development of other infections, such as yeast infections. Luckily, there are plenty of alternatives to antibiotics that can help you wipe out and prevent UTIs without worrying about inflicting other harm on your body. The right treatment will work with your body, not against it.

Invest in a natural anti-UTI treatment to protect your health and ensure you don’t have to worry about infections—in your urinary tract or elsewhere. Choose a supplement that naturally fights the harmful bacteria hiding in biofilm.
