in Destinations on 07/09/16

We all know that traveling is one of the coolest things in the world. Traveling promises a memorable experiences and escapade. This explains why many people start planning and dreaming of their next adventure on the second day of their vacation. If you are wondering whether you are a real travel addict, here are 10 signs you’re addicted to travel.

1. You’re saving for your next trip before you’ve even unpacked

Rather than saving for a house or a new car, you are saving up cash for your next trip. The gifts under your Christmas tree, Christmas cards and your birthday presents have also reduced dramatically. A slowly growing bank balance, all squirrelled away for your next trip, is the best thing ever.

2. None of the photos on your wall are from home

Some people have pictures of family events, graduation and weddings on their walls at home. You’ve got distant mountain ranges, deserted beaches and a dozen other things that required a plane flight and more to reach.

3. Sleeping anywhere, anytime

If you sleep anywhere, you are addicted to travel. From hotels and hostels to bus stations and train stations, there is no stopping you from taking a quick doze. You can probably even take a quick nap on cue and you don’t care about people staring.

4. You are always on the move

You just arrived home and you’re planning another trip. The memories of your last excursion flash through your mind, and make you long for your next visit because you spoke to a holidaymaker on the road who told remarkable stories about Paris or Malaysia.

5. Eating almost any food

Real travel addicts try new and exotic foods. If you are a travel addict, odds are you are an adventurer when it comes to trying new foods. Whether it is trying a snack in Japanese food joint or digging into street foods in Bangkok, travel addicts are willing to experiment with new culinary treats.

6. You don’t care where you are

Because you have a good sense of direction, you are not afraid of getting lost. You believe there is a new surprise around each corner, and the only way you can uncover it is to put your map on your bag pack and wander through the streets to see what you will discover.

7. You’re good at packing

In fact, you are so good at packing that you can pack all of your clothes into a single backpack and still be comfortable carrying it. Unquestionably, packing takes months to perfect, and if you’re a real travel addict, you’re likely to master this valuable skillset.

8. You wallet has all sorts of currencies

You are definitely a travel addict if you carry around a few different currencies in your wallet at once. After every adventure, you add new foreign currencies to your wallet and your collection keeps growing. Or perhaps you have mistaken a Canadian dime for an American dime several times.

9. You know a few foreign words

Travelers and locals are usually very friendly in most countries and enjoy having conversations with you. As a result, you’ve mastered a number of foreign phrases over the last few months. Even if you’re not a multilingual, you can say “hello”, “thank you”, “goodbye”, “cheers”, “yummy” and “welcome” in different foreign languages.

10. Your list of must-visit-places is endless

A few months ago you made a list of all tourists destinations you wish to visit and all the things you want to see. The objective was to visit one destination every six months but the reverse has happened. You have visited each of these spots within a year and you are looking for a new adventure.
