This past Saturday I had the chance to visit the ultra posh, uber glamorous Montage, Beverly Hills, which is home to the hush-hush Whiskey bar known as Ten Pound.  Concealed just above Scarpetta Restaurant, right up the circular stairs, enter a dark, speak-easy shoebox-esq bar with a cozy-glam charm.  We sat outside on an unlikely warm summer night in LA and studied the opulent spirits menu.  I opted for a custom-made champagne infused drink, which was whipped up table side, while my husband sipped on the 25 year old Fine Oak Whiskey. The whiskey is what this bar is famous for, of course, serving only the "world's most precious" Whiskey, The Macallen, from a distillery based in Scotland. The Whiskey ages range, but the oldest is the rare 64 year old Macallen going for a whoppin' $64,000 a glass! The appetizer menu was nothing short of sophisticated, featuring seafood, artisan cheeses, and of course caviar. Some snacks came right away starring crispy bacon, caramelized pecans and cheddar cheese bits, and the memorable bread basket with a scrumptious melt-in-your-mouth toasted prosciutto and cheese brioche. Can anyone say yum!? With only 9 tables and a 35 person maximum seating capacity, this bar is definitely worth a visit.  But remember, you need reservations!

Los Feliz Today

With a boho-chic vibe, art-deco inspirations, and a creative yet diverse community,  Loz Feliz Village is increasingly becoming one of the hippest and trendiest parts of LA.  Located just east of Hollywood and south of the beautiful Griffith Observatory and Greek theater, the city is nestled between 2 major streets, Vermont and Hillhurst Avenue and lined with adorable Euro-bohemian style cafes and boutiques. Indie celebs, creative masterminds, and local artistic junkies frequent the area with yoga mats in hand. Los Feliz is also close to its neighboring city called Silverlake; a hipster village with a similar vibe. Los Feliz Village truly is California's own East Village of NYC. Some of our favorite restaurants include: Little Dom's, Home, Saito Sushi, Alcove Cafe and Blair's.  Last July, the city also featured it's first ever Los Feliz Fashion Festival which plays tribute to local fashion designers who partner with fashion bloggers to style and model their designs. For more information check out Los Feliz Today for all your inquiries from open real estate to trendy restaurants and lounges!

::: Diptyque Paris :::

I think I may have candles and various fragrance bottles in every corner of our home. On a recent trip to San Francisco, I was determined to pop into this world renowned store and see what aromas I could bring home. On my favorite quaint street in SF, Maiden Lane, right in the heart of Union Square, nestled near the Chanel store, was this adorable little boutique. Of course, as soon as the sales person uttered the word, Tuberose, I had it ready for purchase.  We decided to pair the Tuberose with a musky yet complimenting scent called Baies.  It has hints of Bulgarian rose, black currants and currant leaves.  The combination is seriously, intoxicating.  And, in the end, these adorable little candle holders will be the new home to my makeup brushes.

{ Paris has arrived to NYC }

Move over cupcakes, the ultimate in Parisian pastries has arrived to the Upper East Side in NYC!  The world reknown Ladurée has opened it's first doors in the US after being exclusive to its native Paris on the magnifique Champs-Élysées since 1862.  These scrumptious french pastries; so airy, so light, beautifully colored and delightfully flavored will be the newest trend in desserts.  It has been 5 years since my first encounter with a Ladurée macaroon in Paris, but I will be reminiscing about my first bite into those delictable French cookies...until we meet again! Bonsoir!
