Sarine Marie

{ Sarine Marie Fall/Winter 12-13 Collection preview, LA Fashion Week}
I recently paired up with LA based designer Sarine Beberian, the face behind the  contemporary women's label, Sarine Marie and had the privilege of being selected to showcase her beautiful work.  Supporting emerging designers is something we love to do here on VV, especially when the collections speak volumes on their own merit through each detailed ensemble. It's no easy task to mix romance with edge and still keep the fabrics light enough to celebrate a women's silhouette. Laser cut leather, silk chiffon, lace and wool gabardine, these are just some of the luxury fabrics she uses to showcase her lady-like designs. Recently Sarine Marie was one of 12 emerging designers at the MAGIC show in Las Vegas.  The LA Fashion Council highlighted 11 pieces in a private runway show previewing her upcoming collections, not to mention the countless write-ups on her line by Apparel News, Women's Wear Daily, Lucky Magazine, MSN Living and more.  Check out more of her beautiful collection here.

{ Our masterpieces }
Last weekend was an absolute blast. Our dear friend hosted our Annual Pumpkin Carving Party filled with the most creative little details.  From candy corn cookies, spider-webbed 7-layer dip, mini lolli-brooms with adorable orange chevron printed Halloween wishes, and bowls of candy corn stashed in various areas of the Pumpkin scented home...Halloween couldn't have seemed any closer! Unfortunately it's still 2 weeks away, but that's enough time for the weather to cooperate and get colder {fingers crossed}! What will you dress up as this year?

Weekend Faves

Last Saturday I woke up with a smile on my face as the fog set in that morning.  An absolutely perfect way to commence the first day of Fall {probably one of my favorite days of the year}.  A day trip to Morro Bay and Cambria on Sunday really set in the Fall mood as we drove through wine country and beyond with tall Pine trees half hidden by the low fog clouds. Friday night wasn't too shabby either: Painting lessons with good friends, wine tasting, cheese and charcuterie bites. Perfection!
{ Array of wine to select from at The Painted Cabernet }
{ Charcuterie plate that went nicely with my wine and painting }
{ It's no Monet, but hey not bad }
{ Outfit on Sunday, Joie blouse, Forever21 skirt, DKNY Opaque tights, Pour La Victoire booties (old), House of Harlow Necklace, Dior sunnies (sold out, similar here) }
{ Baubles of the day: JCrew, Vintage, Charriol, Martha Calvo snakecuff }
{ Entrance to the Jackson Ranch }

3. Steve Madden Madhouse Bootie
4. Steve Madden Tyrantt Boot
8. Valentino Ascot Boot
9.  Vince Camuto Wenters Boot

Hi. My name is Noelle and I’m a bootaholic.
Really, it’s true.  I am obsessed with boots.  I don't think there has been a time I have seen a pair of boots I did not like. Motorcyle, cowboy, short, tall, wedge, slouchy, suede, leather…you name it and I’ve had it at one point or another. I remember one hot Valley Summer whenever I would go out at night I would wear shorts or mini skirts with high boots. I’d like to think that was my signature look at the time {and the tacky trend when I was 17}. Now that I’m older {and know better} my style has become fine tuned and refined, yet I still find a way to incorporate boots into my looks.  A recent trend I am loving but had to train myself to get used to, are short booties.  You know that effortless look Kate Bosworth and Sienna Miller had as they rocked these Chloe boots?  Well, as that style grew on me more and more, I realized I may need to invest in those shoes.  Good thing for you, we found the exact same version for a fourth of the price {No. 3}; total manrepeller shoes though!  I love how they look on other people with a skirt, dress or when paired with leggings or skinny jeans. They’re versatile and often can take you from day to night. For me, boots give that instant edge I crave while still being able to wear something girly. My favorite go to boot that I own in black and brown is the All Saints Damisi Boot {No. 1}. If you are looking for some good quality sturdy cool-looking boots, I highly suggest checking out All Saints. They give the vintage worn in look and I have worn mine countless times and they hardly show any wear! Another thing I love on boots right now are details and studs {No. 6}.  I am lusting over these from Jeffrey Campbell but I found a similar and cheaper {woo hoo!} version from Steve Madden, here. Talk about parallel universe!

Necklaces

I LOVE accessories and jewelry. I could write about them all day long..but I won’t {don't worry}. Anyone who knows us, is fully aware that we pile on the gems and jewels and don’t believe in the mantra, “less is more” when it comes to our accessories. We like to call ourselves Christmas Trees since we're always decorated with “ornaments.”  What can we say? Pretty things make us happy and they seem to make other people happy too, considering they always get noticed and spark a conversation. My favorite accessory of the moment is the statement necklace...oh, how I love this look. Case in point; when I am stumbling to get ready in the morning and have a fight with my closet, I can always rely on a simple outfit and throw on a great statement necklace and look instantly chic. One of my go-to looks for Summer is a simple baby doll dress with a chunky necklace.  Go from day to night by pairing it with flats then heels and grab a blazer just in case. Alternatively, I'll pair a plain t-shirt, distressed jeans or shorts, a blazer and a fab necklace. The best part about it all, is I could wear a few of the same looks all week long so long as I switch out my statement necklaces, shoes and other accessories and no one will notice. That's the beauty of accessories!  It's also ideal when traveling and for proper packing techniques. I recently discovered a really fun site, Baublebar, which sells trendy jewelry at different price points.  I also found two J. Crew Bubble Necklaces on eBay for a really great price. Other favorite sites of ours are Etsy for creative pieces, Minusey, ShopDesignSpark or Asos for inexpensive yet on trend jewelry.  What are some of your favorite places to shop for great jewelry?

Plus.. Giveaway!

{ Some of my favorites }
Now that Summer is in full gear, polishing your nails with a bright touch is always a must.  I usually stick to pretty neutral nails, but this last Spring and Summer, we saw an influx of crazy colors on nails and I couldn't resist.  The brighter the better, right? My favorite color right now is Coral and Orange.  I am literally obsessed.  If you can't be daring enough with your wardrobe then start off with your nails! It's Summer so stop being boring and start being bright!  Here are a few of my favorite brands and colors.
{From left to right: Teddy Girl, Jaffa, Snog }
OPI and Essie were among my top 2 favorite nail polish brands that always left my nails chip free and shiny for at least 4 to 6 days.  And although those are still near and dear to my heart, a newcomer with a pretty good winning streak has recently captured my attention...{enter:} Butter London.  The colors are absolutely stunning, not too many to pick from so you won't get overwhelmed. Application is easy and 2 coats always does the trick for a full and even polish.  My favorite Butter London colors are Teddy girl, Jaffa, and Snog {pictured above}.  Favorite OPI colors currently are Tazmanian devil made me do it, Funny bunny, Miami beet, and Hopelessly in love.  Favorite Essie colors: Exotic Liras, Clambake, E-nuf is e-nuf, and Instant Hot, just to name a few.  Best thing... all 3 brands are "3 free," which means they are free of toxins such as Formaldehyde, Toluene, and Dibutyl Phthalate. And last but not least, the pièce de résistance; top coat.  Top coat is so vital to the overall durability and wear of the polish.   Ladies, you want to have shiny, polished nails when your out.  It's either all on, or all off! Chipped nails are not cute, they are not trendy and they are not ladylike.  If you have a few small chips don't sweat it.  But, using Out The Door Top Coat {available at CVS/Sav-on} is a total lifesaver.  I literally do my nails 5 minutes before walking out the door!
{My personal stash }
With that being said, we are excited to announce a very exciting OPI Nailpolish giveaway!  To enter, simply Instagram a photo of your favorite nail design/color under the #Vogueandvino hashtag, and we will announce a winner on Thursday.  The lucky winner will get a lovely gift basket full of brand new OPI Colors including the Minnie Mouse Collection and the New Neon collection, plus a few other goodies!  Your nails will be ready for the rest of Summer and well into Fall!  We can't wait to see what you can come up with!  Here is a sneak peek at what you will win:

Although the past few weeks have been an absolute blast, we literally have not spent one weekend home. Most of these pictures were captured on some of our more relaxing weekends spent lounging around town...something I truly look forward to doing a bit more of as the warmer months approach.  Here are a few things currently keeping me going and inspired.

{ Rain } Rain, go away

I got a little ahead of myself this past weekend when the valley temperatures sky rocketed in the 90’s.  I was instantly reminded that Summer is finally around the corner and my hunt for the perfect bathing suit could officially begin...{too bad it’s raining today}! I probably buy a new bathing suit each summer and then recycle my favorites from seasons past so I try not to replicate anything that is too similar to what I already own.  Each of these would be a welcomed addition to my current collection. I am really into the color blue {especially Royal Blue} at the moment, and I love the way VIX swimsuits fit me so I’m leaning towards the blue and white vix bikini with side ties, {side ties= flattering}.  But,  at the same time, I love the neon contrast of the blue and green Victoria’s Secret one! The fringed L*Space monokini is super chic and sexy, although not ideal for tanning ... it's definitely fab for a pool party.  Just throw on some hoop earrings and gold bangles and you're all set. I'm also loving the muted colors and fringe - quite unexpected if you ask me. And the Beach Bunny one is just too hot not to post. Decisions, Decisions! –N.K.
