Most of us at some point have at least dabbled with the day dream of what it must be like to be a star and live the life of the rich and the famous. Whether that’s looked like working on the set of a major Hollywood block buster or to living in one of the fancy mansions in Los Angeles, we’ve probably at least paused to wonder what that lifestyle is like for a moment.
Well, if you have, the good news is you can full fill that day dream in a couple of different ways. Although living the lifestyle of the rich and famous may not be possible for prolonged periods of time, it is actually quite doable for a short amount of time. Whether you and your significant other want to have a little splash out and treat yourself, or you’ve got a bunch of girlfriends or friends that are simply on board with the idea, it is possible for you to get a taste of what the LA lifestyle scene is like.
If you are a planner, you can really have a bit of fun putting together this fun trip. If planning isn’t your thing, the good news is there are often last minute deals a plenty in this vibrant city. The point is you can’t really go wrong with a splash out trip to LA. This diverse city always has something going on so use this as a guide to get you started. Before you know you will be sipping margaritas next to an infinity pool in sunny California.
Here are 5 Ways to Live it up in Los Angeles:
Shop Rodeo Drive
Rodeo Drive has been beckoning to serious shoppers for decades. Although you might not actually want to purchase much on Rodeo Drive, (seriously, this place will give you major price tag shockers), nothing says you can’t dress up and pretend you are a serious contender.
This is the same street Julia Roberts walked down while filming “Pretty Woman.” In everyday life this is place where deeply lined pocketed shoppers and window gawkers combine. So put your best outfit on, hold that head up high and strut yourself. No one says you can’t be a well-dressed window shopper that may or may not buy something.
Rent a Convertible
Countless scenes have been shot with hair blowing in the wind as the top of a convertible is down while the people cruise along Sunset Boulevard. Perhaps one of the most iconic streets in the United States, Sunset Boulevard has been leading people down its palm tree lined lane for decades. The entire road spans about 22 miles. If renting a convertible isn’t your thing and you would rather have someone else do the driving, you can always opt to go on a tour. Then you can sit back, relax and learn about some of the history as you traverse this historic road in America.
Stay in a Mansion
Have you ever wondered what it must feel like to be sipping on a glass of champagne while staying in a luxury mansion? Well now you can. You can rent a mansion for your getaway retreat. Many people do not think of this option, but especially if splitting the cost with some friends, you can find yourself enjoying all the perks of high class living for less than you think. Scattered all throughout Los Angeles, there are properties along Venice Beach, Hollywood or you can be tucked up into the hills and never leave your luxury digs. So decide on the location you want to stay at and see what fancy places you might be able to call home for a few nights. Sure, many of us might not be able to afford owning a mansion, but we certainly can enjoy the luxuries of one by renting it for a few nights!
Visit Universal Studios
Ok, so maybe you can’t exactly live out your dreams of working on a famous movie or television set, but you can at least go and visit the place where it all happens. Universal Studios is home to some the world’s most famous shows to ever hit the screen including “The Simpsons,” King Kong” and “The Mummy.” One of the city’s most popular attractions, it is known as the entertainment capital of LA. Be sure to keep an eye out for Woody Woodpecker, the official mascot of the studios.
Attend a Concert at Hollywood Bowl
This is the place to party like a rock star or perhaps jazz or some other wonderful concert that might be happening and suite your needs. Set against the back drop of Hollywood Hills and the iconic Hollywood sign, this venue attracts scores of people from everywhere. Plenty of famous bands and artists have made an appearance on this stage including The Beatles, The Doors, Alicia Keys and The Rolling Stones. The site also boasts a museum so you can take you time wandering around as you soak up all the good tunes.
As you put together this glamorous trip to Los Angeles, make sure you got plenty of camera batteries and memory cards to capture all the moments you will be creating. As you head back to the office or your normal life and your friends ask how your vacation went out in LA, by doing a few of the ideas on this list you will have really dabbled in another lifestyle. And when they ask what it all looked like you can pull out that phone and say, “Let me just show you some of the pictures.”
